does any one know what the actual difference between the two clutch throw out bearing forks are? Do they interchange? If not why?

You might want to mention whether you're referring to an Isuzu or Getrag tranny.

I believe the 5-spd Getrags used in the '87 and '88 Fieros are the same, therefore the clutch fork should be as well... but I don't know for sure. What leads you to suspect they are different?

The Fiero store lists 2 for the 88 V6. One is the same as the 87 the other says "Machined between forks". Rock Auto lists one for an 87 but not for an 88

The ends inside the trans case differ. The non machined one is longer and a larger diameter. Goes into a brass bushing. The machined is smaller and goes into a needle bearing. If you have a non machined one it could probably be machined to match the one with the small end.

Apparently GM changed the bearings half way through the 88 model run. I don't know of anyone who has purchased the $400 replacement fork that the Fiero Store is trying to sell. The early 88 fork with bushings should be the same as 85-87.
