I have looked through the posting here on how to check a fuel sending unit. Everybody talks about using a multi meter to check for the ohms difference, but the thing I don't see here is, Where should the leads be hooked up on the device to do this test?

Connect the ohm meter to the sender wire and to the metal body of the sender. 0 ohms empty and 90 ohms full (45 half take and so on). A few one way or the other is no big deal.

Yes. You can test the top side by unplugging the sender wire (connection on the firewal). Unplugged it will read way past full. Ground the sender wire and it will read empty (key on, engine not running). I think it is the tan wire if I remember correct.

I have been looking for an official service manual so I don't have to bother people with these mundane issues. No one seems to like the Chilton or Haynes books.
