So I was reading an article on how they build a cheap 600 hp LS4 5.3L v8
http://oppositelock.kinja.c...nder-2500-1693906759

And now I am considering buying a LS4 rather than the 350 SBC I have been looking for. The only thing that's holding me back is that the LS4 is fuel injected.
I would love to put an LS4 in my Fiero, but I feel like the wiring would kill me.
Any suggestions? Anyone know if the wiring would be very hard, I just don't want to end up with an engine that won't turn over because a wire

If money was not a concern I would go the LS4 route for sure. I am coming from the LS world, have a 98 Procharged Camaro wLS1 and use to have a Grand Prix GXP w/LS4. LSx motors an awesome bang for the buck. For tuning purposes you can use HPtuners or go with many different vendors that support the LS community. To me well worth it

x2
I had a SBC Fiero for 6 years, and I have had my LS4/F40 swap done for nearly 4 years. My goal with the switch was to gain 100 hp (382 whp vs. 282 whp), drop 100 lbs (2807 vs. 2960 lbs), and 30 mpg... I missed this one as I only reached 29 mpg, but the best with the SBC/getrag was 23 mpg.

To the OP:
Your link refers to the LM4 (a RWD LSx engines that will require an adapter plate). The LS4 is the FWD version that bolts directly to the FWD transmissions. If the wiring scares you, there are carb intakes and ignition control modules that will greatly simplify the wiring. If you get an 07+ engine, I have posted the wiring details in my linked thread earlier this this thread.
