I believe that the different calibrations of the same MAF sensor may have to do with the way the intake air tubes and TB's were sized and configured. The length and bends all can influence the way the air flows.
Must 100% agree that you just can't cut and paste a MAF table for a specific sensor and expect it to be plug and play. But you can monitor the MAP, LTFT's and O2 sensor readings as related to RPM and tweak the MAF curve with small changes here and there. According to the tune that I did, I found small changes can make a big difference.
