ya know, I actually Do have one ! never thought to look. (Old Age setting in)CRS . it hasn't done much for me in the past in the way of Wiring. I'll have to take a look, I know I'll need a Magnifying Glass to see any of it. Thanks for Reminding me. I Know there's something MISSING there, but don't know What.
I have checked in the only manual I have accessible at the moment- 88....It shows no relay for the headlights and no relay for the fan- I know they both have them but maybe the info is classified!
Sadly, a common sight to see. Appears to be the wires to the relay and the separate connector that controls the closing function of the motor (blue wire). Can be fixed, but I hope you instead opt to swap in a junkyard harness that is uncut. This is what it did, and though a little bit of work, worth saving the harness. I'm implying you don't ruin a perfect junkyard harness to salvage this one. IF you really need it, I do think I have my old mangled harness (previous owner tried rigging it to epic fail) and may be able to provide sections you need.
I "may" install Totally Different Lights. I don't mind cutting hood/ fenders, and filling the light covers. Entire car is custom (inside and out). the only thing remaining is the front "beak", so everything is subject to change. Thanks
Do Not follow directions to mash the wires together. Pull for testing is BS for this and others. Cold/weak joints can pass that and still be bad. Gun used, like many other on YT, are too small to heat the area. Normal heat tube is bad too. Won't seal out water etc. "Weather proof" is better but bad joints made here will cause problems.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoD2aUvnQXg I don't recommend some joints here but look at joints after solder. He got the wire hot to flow solder IN the wire and joint. You need this for electrical/mechanic reasons but to keep water etc out of joint itself. Bigger joints is use bigger gun/iron too. Big joint are "Weller" type gun w/ 100-140w that can quickly heat the area.
ETA--> He should crimp the joints then solder when using butt joints etc. Crimping makes heating easier. Side note: Many crimp end are better and safer with solder because hand crimping can't generate enough pressure w/ wire size >22awg. Is why you see crimp end melt insulation etc or cause fires when used on HL, Rad Fan, and other devices eating power.
------------------ Dr. Ian Malcolm: Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should. (Jurassic Park)
and then they wonder Why they see a Sign on the wall that states " Labor rates DOUBLE if you Worked On It First" . LOL. Sometimes I wish I could apply that ! ( but then, double nothing is still nothing)
that's just 1 of the Many gangs of wires that were cut off and spliced, surprised they are not "Glued" together. LOL
