There are many other GM vehicles with auto shift knobs that will fit the Fiero shifter lever. Some of the more common ones are the F-body and Corvette knobs. Back when my Fiero had a slushbox, I used a shift knob from a Chevy Corsica.

I just tried to swap my buick regal handle on and it fit but I couldn't get the key out of the ignition. It's clipped in at the right spot. Seems that it's not exactly the right size for it. Unless someone else has a different idea.

f the Key won't come out, the shifter is not far enough into Park (has very little to do with the handle)

I acquired a 3rd gen F body handle, somewhere. I like it as much as any automatic handle I've ever seen.
(They were also available in leather. Probably a Corvette piece.)

I played around with it at least a dozen times and gave up. It went in all the gears fine but when in park the key wouldn't come out. When I took the c-clip out and moved the handle slightly higher it was fine.

I just added the same shift handle to my Formula. At first I was disappointed that i still had to use a finger to depress the button far enough to shift into 1st and 2nd.

Then I glued a 1/4 high button from my wife's Bakelite collection to the top of the button and now I can engage 1st and 2nd by pressing down with the palm of my hand. Sort of like the Rodney auto shift handle.

The Grand Prix shift knobs are quite nice and fit without any mods as far as I can recall.

I make a push button transmission selector to replace the cable and shift handle. Computer controlled using a linear actuator.

so got a corvette knob, black leather button on center. was wondering if there was a write up on how to modify the stock shifter to accept the corvette knob?

I know right off the start I must cut down the stock shifter as the slots need to be at 9 and 3 versus the 12 and 6 position they are from the factory,

and then the button is slightly different how do you make it work with stock fiero shifter.
