Anyone know where the coolant thermostat is located on a 4.9 conversion? Have an 85 notchback and an ed parks 4.9 cadillac conversion. Ed completed the total swap with no corners cut at the fiero factory. I am the original owner so i am very familiar, but never asked and have no idea where to look? Any ideas? My gut is its in the "neck" connected right to the engine in the engine bay but i dont want to open that up unless i have to due to the angle and the ensuing loss of coolant. Also, anyone know if the temp sensor next to that can be swapped out without massive loss of coolant? THANKS!

The thermostat is in that housing, right on top of the manifold.
I also faced that situation. I ended up installing a fill adapter that came from Summit Racing, and also moved my overflow to the rear.
I installed a 20 lb non-vented cap on the radiator and a 15 lb cap in the rear, so that it would vent there, instead of at the front.
Along with providing a fill point at the highest location, it also moved the overflow to the highest location. I used to lose more than a little bit of coolant out of the overflow. Not any more. (It's an Allante manifold, but the concept is the same.)
