I purchased a new hood latch seal from TFS and am wondering how do i attach it to the hood itself. It appears it has to be glued on, any recommendations?

Just bumping this... I'm assuming that no such thing exists anymore, right? I don't see a hood latch seal available on TFS anymore... but I seem to recall that I bought one back in the day. And, like an idiot, I think I attached it to the cowl rather than the hood on my 87... haha. But maybe it's different year to year? I'm looking for one for my daughter's 85. I may have to just make one myself.

I don't recall seeing any on from the Fiero Store in sometime, even then it wasn't something I was considering. That said I recently snag a photo from this one.

I figure I'll be able to cut one out from some sheet material.

I would be interested when you complete them.

Thanks!

I wonder if high temperature TPU can be used instead of the foam. That way it can be entirely 3D printed without a vendor getting involved.

I talked to Matt at the Fiero Store, and he said that in fact they (Fiero Store) did sell those hood gaskets, including the "D" shaped pipe gaskets that mounted under the hood that are used to help secure the sunroof (when installed) from bouncing around. Matt said that he used to sell them for Jim at FieroFiberglass. He wasn't totally clear, but maybe this guy Jim passed away?

My car has a Fiero Store hood seal..... It must've been about a decade ago that I bought it. If I recall, the "pores" in the foam are smaller and finer than the ones in the original OEM seal, but the foam itself was softer, if that makes any difference to anyone. The new seal was sticky on the back side of it and had a paper backing that you have to peel off like a sticker.

Yeah, I e-mailed him... he said he didn't have anymore, and left it at that.

Thanks... looks like I can probably make my own (which I did) using a large piece of stock foam with tape backing.

I found this on Amazon, which is exactly what we need. I just don't need / want 125 feet of it.
