Hey guys, I am rebuilding a spare 2.8 V6 engine for a school project. It had an auto tranny attached but I will likely be using my existing 4 speed manual with it when I swap it in. Is the auto wiring harness the same as the manual other than the wires that go into the auto tranny? Or will I have to re-use my existing 4spd harness?

C500 has a pin you will need to move:
E2 is the starter on a manual transmission
A4 is the starter on an automatic transmission

So you will need to move C500 pin A4 to pin E2 if you are using an auto harness on a manual car.

I would say just use the manual harness already in the car, and correctly pinned, and sell the auto harness.

Sounds like it will indeed require some modification... I'll just use my manual one. Will likely post the auto harness up for sale in the mall soon. Thanks!

As long as he makes the connection to the TCC, that should work fine.

There is no TCC in a manual car.

My standard swaped 3.4 is using an auto harness with the prnd21 switch left in neutral position, column neutral safety switch left in neutral position, and extended speed sensor wires.
