Trying to change the whole distributor on my car as the pick up coil went out and it looks like the cap, rotor, and rest of it is all original... So i figured i would just change the whole thing so i don't have to worry about it.

Now i removed the bolt and bracket that hold the distributor on. But i'm having an issue pulling the actual distributor out! It won't budge at all.. are there any tips or tricks to this?
I've never had an iron duke before and on my V6 the thing just popped out with little to no resistance...

Any help would be appreciated quite a bit! This is my daily and it's currently blocking other things at my shop...

If you can get a socket and extension bar on the bolt on the end of the crank, have a buddy move it slowly and pull upwards on distributor. Also make sure your on level ground and wheels chocked. Again slow is the operative word here. You don't want to loosen the crank bolt and definitely don't want to snap it off. Recheck torque on the crank bolt when finished or it could potentially come off. But you should watch this video first of a guy removing his 2.8 distributor first.

Twist it back and forth for a while and then after getting it lose as possible try twisting it while pulling it up at the same time. the prying with a bar will work but if you are afraid of braking the distributer try the twisting pulling.

Remember these things have been in there for decades, usually without ever being touched even, never mind removed.

thanks!

This is my 2nd fiero. Had a V6 SE a couple of years ago but that got totaled sadly...

I miss the V6...but like the MPG of the little iron duke.
