Started working on my LS4 swap - I am planning on deleting the DoD. Looking for suggestions for a valley cover. I see several out there that are "lo profile", Vented, etc.

Thanks in advance.

Call Scoggin-Dickey and let them know what you are doing. They should be able to tell you exactly what you need, were to get it, or sell it to you if they have it in stock.

The standard equipment for doing the DoD delete for valley cover, is the LS2 valley cover.

If you plan to relocate the oil sensor elsewhere, there are some valley covers for race engines, which don't have the oil pressure sensor boss.

You must use a valley cover made for a Gen IV engine. A Gen III cover will not work. The LS4 is a Gen IV engine. If anyone tries to sell you a Gen III cover and tell you it's a Gen III engine, they are flat out wrong.

Read fieroguru's thread in the Construction Zone.
He did something similar, I think.

Most of the LS4 guys are using the LS3 valley cover. Its also the recommended one by Scoggin Dickey:

Thanks all for the replies........

Thinking about locating the OP sensor on the cap at the oil filter. Could I use the valley cover used for a "Carb" application - similar to this one from Moroso!

You can use that cover, yes. If you do, I'd recommend relocating the OPSU to the rear of the block, by drilling/tapping the same port the OE valley cover uses, as fieroguru did:

CLICK FOR FULL SIZE

This will give a more useful reading than having it located at the filter bypass.

He retained DoD, but relocated the OPSU to the rear side of the block, to make room for the LS2 intake manifold.
