I AM LOOKING TO CHANGE MY STOCK MUFFLER WITH SOMETHING THAT WILL GIVE IT AN MORE EXOTIC SOUND (SUCH AS FERRARI). ARE THERE ANY OPTIONS AVAILABLE THAT WILL FIT MY CAR WITHOUT ANY MODIFICATIONS TO THE CURRENT EXHOUAST SET UP?

THANKS!

There is no muffler that will make your Fiero sound like a Ferrari.

The closest Ferrari you'll get a Fiero 2.8 to sound like, is the Dino. The Spintec muffler will probably give you the sound closest to what you're looking for.

Ferraris sound the way they do, as a combination of the design of the engine itself, and the full exhaust system, not just a result of the muffler. The 2.8 V6 is a wildly different design, so you shouldn't expect anywhere close to the same sound, without a complex re-engineering of the entire exhaust system.

There was a u-tube post from a guy in Japan (I think) that had a FIERO and built a complete header system that had a sound close to what you are looking for but the cost was sky high. I don't think anyone but Walker Exhaust makes a OE replacement but that's what it is, OE. Bosal had a system, cat back, that sounded very good but that now appears to be gone. I've looked at a couple of the older exhaust catalogs and the closest I can find is a Spintek 7000sc that appears to have the inlet out let design the OE muffler has but the 'can' of the muffler is 16" as opposed the stock 12 ". I think a couple of forum members have made this muffler work. Check out the Spintec online catalog and in the 7000 series tab onto 'muffler configurations' the SC unit is pictured near the bottom. They list the dimensions as: The case is only 2-1/4” thick, 9” wide by 16” long. Different size inlet/outlets Available in round inlets 2”- 2-1/4” & 2-1/2” as well as oval inlets 2-1/2” (1-3/4 x 3) and 3” (2-1/4 x 3-1/2) . Hope this helped and I'll check a couple of more sources in the am.

Spintechs that fit: http://westcoastfiero.com/e...st/muffler/index.php

The video you're referring to is from a Taiwanese owner who had custom exhaust made, which was similar to a 180 degree system on a small block, but for the 60 degree V6, using the right diameter exhaust, and a resonator, to get the appropriate pitch and pulses to get the Ferrari style sound. I don't think it would be expensive to make, but it's not trivial and there are no bolt-on kits sold for it.
