Hi guys. I have an 86, and I wanted to change the steering wheel to the 84 3 spoke, which has leather. I bought one, but discovered I can't hook up the horn. I need the "horn canceling ring" or something like that that my mechanic told me about. Here are two pictures. The first is the diagram my mechanic showed me with the part I need, the second is what I THINK it looks like from a screen shot of a video on youtube. Any of you guys know what this is, or have one? I'll pay for it if I can find one. And if anyone would want an 86 4 Spoke steering wheel, with two nice horn paddles... I'll make you a great deal if you can help me find these parts so I can use the steering wheel I bought!

Addendum: SORRY I couldn't figure how to upload the photos.

It's best to use PIP to post images here.

The only "cancelling ring" I know of would be the turn signal mechanism - Item #11

I think the part I need is #6. I haven't been able to find it. Any ideas?

The correct part is the cam cancel ring, part # 6. It's a standard GM part. There are two different rings. One is for the standard steering column and the other is for the tilt column. NAPA Auto Parts is one parts store that sells them. The part # for the non-tilt column is 735-2950. The number for the tilt column is 735-2188. It doesn't show up when you put in Fiero as a vehicle, so you would need to indicate 'no vehicle specified'.

You will also need the contact pin, spring and black plastic piece that goes into the turn signal cancel cam. I still have two complete sets remaining. Let me know if you need them. $11 shipped priority mail.

Do you have the correct pin, spring and plastic piece for the 3 spoke? It's different from the 4-spoke.

Yes, I got that from the person I bought the steering wheel from, but they didn't have the canceling ring. Thanks again.
