It looks like a pretty straight forward process to replace the dog bone, but I want to be sure there isn't some voodoo magic rain dance I'll have to do to get it off and put the new one on

If your engine saggs once you remove it your mounts are done for. Probably the most simple straight forward part in existence.

If your engine mounts are good, it's just a matter of taking the old one off and putting the new one on. You might have to push/pull the motor a little bit but nothing you can't do by hand.

Is this why you want to replace your dogbone?

If so, a new one will do the same thing. At least that's what happened to mine. My other mounts look ok, but something must be wrong. I also have a loose bulkhead manifold, which is probably related. The good news is, replacing the dogbone did do away with some noises.

You'll need access through the triangular panel by the right shock tower.

A spreader/clamp will make it easier.

Trouble is this happened immediately.

I ended up doing this, which has held up about eighteen months.

This car seems to have some mods/work done on the cradle/engine. Maybe things don't fit for a reason.
