One of my GT's has about 9-10 with 10w30 at idle hot. Mechanical and electrical. Jumps to 40 under load no problem. Not to interested in rebuilding. Got 3800sc I am working on anyway. This is just a car to put miles on. Nothing can be done other than rebuild correct?

New oil pump would do without the trick.

Smokey Unic's "rule of thumb", you need 10PSIOil pressure for every 1000 RPM. so idling at 900, 9psi is fine. want more without a rebuild, you don't even NEED a new pump, pull the pressure relief spring out of the oil pump and put a shim behind it. However, a HV pump will do wonders and they're pretty cheap. or switch to straight 30 weight.
