My motor seems to be suffering from a different problem. Mine would only go up if the hood was open and would make a terrible sound. I rebuilt it with rodneys kit, and the bushings I removed were still in decent shape. Put it all back together and I still have the same problem. The plastic gear looked perfect, I didn't inspect the metal worm gear that closely.

The video of your headlight motor operating sounds like the motor bearings may be worn, on some motors the bearings can wear enough to cause the armature to rub against the stator. Causing loud noises.
Unfortunately you would have disassemble the motor section to inspect for wear marks.
Since the plastic gear looked good like you mentioned, I would think the metal worm gear is probably fine also.
