You don't know what the black paint is....so your odds are about 50/50. Cheap rattle can paint will come off pretty easily, but not 2 part urethane.

You dont see much catalyzed spray can paint

If it was a dab of paint stripper would get anything, even epoxy. Brake fluid (ONLY DOT4) will also take off most spray can paint without affecting paint underneath it.

Not knowing what your parts natural finish is, taking off the letters may leave it still visible. A scotchbrite pad or sandpaper might me needed to blend it out.

Eastwood has that. They call it their 2K Aero line: http://www.eastwood.com/pai...ro-spray-paints.html

I wasn't sure I was understanding things correctly until I saw a cutaway demo can on the shelf at their store. Really cool idea for someone who needs just a can or two and doesn't want to mess with a gun and compressor.

Yes SW sells it too. Catalyst is in part of the can and paint in the rest. You do something like pull a pin or something and shake it up good. Trouble is you have to use it all at one time, because the unused amount then catalyzes in the can

Eastwoods is a pin you press in on the bottom of the can that releases the catalyst inside.

They say pot life is 48 up to 72 hours at 68 degrees F.
