Does anyone know if the Pioneer clutch fork sold on autozone's website is actually a good replacement part for the 5-speed? http://www.autozone.com/dri...rk&fromString=search
Or should I go with the more expensive fork from the fiero store? If anyone has used the Pioneer fork or knows anything about it please share what you know.
Thank you all in advance.

CF-106??......

Generally I am very skeptical of Autozone....but the savings are sizable. This is a good example of a warranty that does not mean much, considering the labor to go back in there and get the part out.....

I know this is an old thread, but wondering if you ended up using the Pioneer part? I'm looking at the same thing.

Most likely it is the same one used in the production line trans. I don't think anyone ever reproduced this. They are probably left over stock and probably limited supply.

I never ended up changing the clutch fork. The autozone fork looks like the one for the Isuzu trans anyway. I think.

I bought the fork and returned it. It's the wrong one. Does anyone know where I might get one?

The only place I've seen them for sale is the Fiero Store. Or a junkyard if you're lucky.

Thanks for the replies, I suppose we're lucky to have a source at all, but at that price it seems like you could buy a whole transaxle. :-/

I found another Pioneer part that looks exactly like the one in my car it's CF-134, but it says it's for the L4 2.5. Anyone know about this one? You can see it here by putting in that part number: pioneerautoinc.com/search_parts.htm

It's worth a shot. Clutch Forks belong with the transmission assembly, not the engine. I believe the Pontiac 6000 did actually sell a Getrag hooked up to an Iron Duke.

I purchased a NOS clutch fork for the Getrag 282 about six months ago. I did a net search and about 15 phone calls but ended up acquiring one for about $50.

Was there a part number you used? Where did you end up finding it? TIA

I have a spare clutch fork, it's in a Pioneer box with part # CF-134. It looks like the one pictured in the Pioner link.

There are several sellers on ebay with them listed. I would ask if the picture is the part you will receive.

Thanks for the reply, I found that part on Amazon and ordered one, we'll see if it's the right one soon. I'll let you know how I make out.

I looked in so many places that I cannot remember where I finally acquired the fork. I do know that it was from a parts warehouse and may have been their last one. Many suppliers had it listed as available but did not have it in stock when I tried to purchase it. They could not give me any clue as to when it would be back in stock either.

The one I ordered from eBay was the wrong one even though the item picture was correct so be prepared to return the fork if it does not fit.
