Another question.
My GM radio/cassette does not keep time or stations when the car is turned off, yes I know I have to check the wire on that.
My question is that the radio when I start the car always start at 0:50 and then start counting and the radio stations when I put it on a station manually might not pick it up right away and sometimes it seems like it is scanning but the numbers don't move and then all of a sudden the channel comes in clear.

Is it trash or something simple to fix. I haven't had it out yet and if I did I am unsure what to look for.

Lots of radio problems are fixed by resoldering joints. That said, I don't know if it's a good idea for a novice to attempt it; a local guy in my area does it for all kinds of old car radios.
