I just purchased hptuners to tune my 3800sc in my Fiero. I am not very familiar with tuning, so I am looking for some advice so I don't cause any issues.
I have searched the tune repository at hptuners, and haven't found much to help me.

Most importantly, what do I need to change in the tune for the manual trans swap? I can figure out the speedometer calibration on my own, but what other factors do I need to change?

Also, if there is someone willing to point me in the right direction as far as the engine tuning, I would greatly appreciate it.

Here are the mods done to the engine:
1.9 ratio rockers
3.4" supercharger pulley
cone style air filter
180* t stat
autolite 104 spark plugs
exhaust - stock manifolds, 2.25" cat, borla boomer mufler

Also, is there anything needed to be changed in the tune to delete abs and traction control from the computer, or will it just be ignored?

Again, thanks for any help. I am looking forward to learning the tuning process, just need help getting started.

Starting point. Shut off all electrical accessories, close door, deck lid , AC Lights etc. Using the interface cable, connect to the OBDII port. Open the editor program , then turn the key to on (not start) position. Read the entire program and save it. Go your desk and open the PCM file with your editor again. Next delete the anti-theft function and (uncheck) all DTC codes that have to do with the automatic transmission and those that relate to devices such as EGR that you will not be using. Re-flash with changes (no need to write entire). If no trouble codes show, this should put you at the starting point for tuning. That's the basic process.

Forgot to mention this is a 1997 grand prix gtp engine, series 2. When I read the vcm, it comes up as a 1998, maybe the computer was replaced at some point.

Just check the PCM part number which is usually written on a label that is affixed to the unit. That should confirm the model year. IIRC there isn't a whole lot of difference between the 97 and 98 computers. If the editor reads it as a 98 it probably is or it is possible that someone flashed in the 98 code. The editor will only read what is in the program. Modify that, reflash changes and you are in a position to start..
