I just had my front brakes repaired as had what mechanic said was locked caliper, would still turn but had some
smoke on right front. Have new calipers, pads, rotors turned.
So after 10 mile drive home, front wheels seem hot, can hold hand on the center cap but not comfortably. Right
more hot than left but similar. Backs are nice and cool.
Question is would this be normal, was driving in 30mph traffic, 6 to 8 lights, no hard stops, temp about 85.
I have forgotten what normal was before having the frozen caliper, hopefully is ok. I guess the new pads could

be getting broken in. Edit to add also got new brake hoses.

You'll probably hear a lot of different things from people. Here's an article by TireRack:

About 70% of braking is done off the front, so you should expect those wheels to be a bit warmer than the rear. Temps are alway going to be a little bit higher during the pad seating process.
