Yup.
Many seals are like that. Including many AC compressor and WP shaft seals.
Examples:
Many test AC w/ holding a low vacuum #. Most times is bad test. AC is not made to hold vacuum.
Fiero w/ wrong Rad Cap pulls vacuum at engine. Car parked nose down is even worse.
