Engines in my garage, on a fiero cradle, awaiting financial input.

I'm looking for ideas for ze heater-core feed. (i live in nebraska, and winter gets rough, i'll require heat in the cab)
As of right now, i was planning to use the stock 3800 thermostat stuff, (i lack welding and general fabrication skills)

I just don't know what to do with the heater plumbing. Can somebody get me started. (budget and simplicity are high priority)

I think it's different for the 88 since the 88 already has a return up front(????).. but what I did for 86 setup was tap the coolant hole on the lower intake to 3/4 NPT, tap and cap off the return on the front cover.. Used fitting on lower intake for the inlet and then for the return I added a T inline at the water pump hose / lower radiator hose. Heater works great. This method is for relocated alternator setup.

If you use stock 3800 tstat housing it's going to be difficult to properly fill with coolant without a way to fill the block, it takes some time to get the coolant system completely filled.

The heater core return on the 88 is on the passenger side coolant tube in front of the rear wheel.
The setup that sco77 described works well and eliminates the sometimes problematic elbows that connect the waterlog to the LIM and water pump housing.

Using the stock 3800 thermostat housing is not a problem. After installing the drivetrain and hooking everything up, get the cooling system wet by leaving the front cap off and the thermostat housing uninstalled.
Fill the system through the t-stat housing HOSE until the coolant runs out of the front cap.
Install front cap.
Fill block through t-stat hole in LIM.
When full, install t-stat and housing.
Finish filling t-stat hose and install on t-stat housing.
Fill coolant return tank to cold line.
Start and warm engine.
Bleed air through fitting on t-stat housing. Repeat air bleed until engine is warmed to temp.
Turn off, allow to cool.
Refill coolant tank if needed.

Repeat the bleed proceedure until you are satisfied the system is completely bled.
