How do i unsubscribe from a topic?

When you back out of this thread, look at the left margin of your screen. You should see a small line with some arrows. Click and you'll open up a side bar that allows you to subscribe and unsubscribe.

Thanks Fierofool! I never knew that side bar existed.

You can also unsubscribe by clicking the "Unsubscribe" legend at the top of the thread you're subscribed to. The left side bar lets you see all subscriptions as opposed to just one that you're in.

Does the option to unsubscribe from new posts to a thread still exist? I'm not seeing it in the thread, nor in a sidebar menu. Thanks!

It's there but you need to be logged in.
