I'm redoing the front suspension on my rust bucket 84 Indy. It has the original suspension but no spring rubbers. I noticed the Fiero Store sells front spring rubbers. I replaced the original front suspension on my 87 a few years ago with an aftermarket coilover suspension and it did not have any spring rubbers either. In addition, i found no refeence to them in the 87 factory manual either. The front fender to top of the tire gap is already too much on stock Fieros and it Looks to me like putting spring rubbers in will just make the gap wider. Why should I install them now? Are they necessary?

84's didn't come with rubber cushions for the front springs. I've removed them from my '86 GT and '88 Formula as well.

I've experienced no problems. I don't hear any additional squeaks.

Probably not nescessary and will lower the car slightly without them. On overhauling our 86SE and 87GT both cars had front upper rubbers (spring pads) from the factory. Your car will look slightly high if you replace them, but will settle down some after driving a few miles. Without them your really only lower about a quarter inch at the most. There are no pads on the bottom of the front springs.

Those spring rubber pieces are insulators. They are for any unwanted vibration.

Problem is they weren't available for many years. The Fiero Store has had them since 2007 if I remember correctly.
I bought a pair for my 88GT back then, and they had some in stock for 1 year since then.

I tried to get them back in 2001 for my old 86GT. I found a universal rubber insolators at Canadian Tire, so I used that.

BTW, you should use / buy them if doing a restoration, or if any suspension work.

How does this "vibration" manifest itself?

I've never noticed any issues with my '86/'88 Fieros where I've removed these rubber pads (or on my '84 which never had any from the factory).

Its your choice, but my old 86GT, 87GT, and both of my 88GTs had / have them.

I can't comment on the 84s, I never owned one.

Its just like suspension bushings (rubber), vibration / insolator.

The fronts have these on the top of the spring, and the rears have them on
the top and bottom of the spring.

Well, of course it's my "choice" , but I was genuinely interested in what a person is supposed to feel (or hear or whatever) when these rubber isolators are removed. I'm just saying that I personally haven't noticed anything different.
