Where can I get a PROM for a manual transmission 91 twin cam V6? The engine I am using came out of a 91 Grand Prix with an auto transmission but I have it wired up and mated to a 5 speed in an 88Gt now.

$45 for the stock PROM with the VATs if equipped disabled and a solder in socket.

BCFA 91 W-car 3.4DOHC 5 speed

Note - this is for the PROM only, not the MEM/CAL. You will have to cut the legs off of the stock chip and solder the socket in place. Easy if you have a fine point soldering iron and fine solder.

I use my dremel and cut the legs right next to the body of the chip. I then insert the socket so the legs of the socket are on the outside of the PROM leg stumps. I then solder each carefully not to bridge the pins. It looks something like this -

If you want you can send the MEM/CAL to me and I can modify it with the socket for $30.

Otherwise you can use the Moates socket adapter -

email me at gofast@reddevilriver.com or just paypal me there.
