Car is an 86 GT with air conditioning. I'm not clear on what replacement hoses I need for attaching to the heater core.

I've seen that the Fiero Store has listings that are explicit in saying they will fit an 86 V6 with AC. They have different items listed for AC and non-AC. I've also seen comments on the forum suggesting that AC/non are different hoses, but most discussion is focused on the 88s so that could be confusing me.
The Fiero Store hoses are expensive.

Rock Auto has hoses listed for "heater to pipe-1" and "heater to pipe-2", but when I searched their part numbers, I saw them referred to as non-AC hoses. The RockAuto descriptions don't specify AC/non-AC at all.
The Gates web site lists 19602 for "heater to pipe-1" and 18853 for "heater to pipe-2". This is the same info that RockAuto is regurgitating. It doesn't say anything about AC vs non AC.
NAPA is the same way - they don't distinguish between cars with and without AC.

The whole subject of what heater hoses fit what car has gotten me confused.
Are the AC and non-AC hoses the same on an 86? If so, then it's easy, but I'm under the impression that they're supposed to be different.

Does anybody know aftermarket part numbers for the correct hoses to the heater core on an *AC equipped* 1986? Is Fiero Store the only one?

I know from bad experience that, if Rock Auto doesn't specifically say that the part is FOR something than it isn't. good luck in your search, I'm sure someone has replaced these recently and will know the PN

Now I'm not so sure? Is the 84-87 all the same on the heater core or is 84 all by it's self? I'll have to look at that. I have the 84 heater core with A/C coming. If not and nothing is available I'll do the 85-87 heater core with A/C soon.

That would be me. I took them off my 84 I am using to build my Countach.

Edit to add: That's why I was going to jump in letting the OP know you were working on some at the moment.

Thanks for the replies.
So is it confirmed that the AC and non-AC hoses are different for the 1986 model?
If so, I'll ignore the listings from places that don't distinguish between them.
That leaves Fiero Store. Has anybody ordered their hoses for an 85-87 with AC? Are they the proper fit?

Rodney, I'd normally wait for yours but I probably won't be able to. I need to change the heater core, and if the hoses don't cooperate I'll have to replace them ASAP.
However, if I do end up pulling the hoses, I can hopefully compare them to the hoses on an 84 and report if they match.

I had done the research and had most the different hoses written down somewhere. I will see if I can find it.

Kevin
