I was able to drive my 3800sc swap for the first time (5 speed getrag, spec stage 3 clutch) and I am experience some shaking/knocking sound when engaging the clutch. It does not happen in reverse or when revving the engine in neutral. It occurs only when I am accelerating in first and shifting. I have never experience clutch chatter first hand so I want to see if that is what's going on or if i have a much more serious problem on my hands. I will add that after driving it a little it seemed to tone down a little, I am pretty sure at least.

Here is the video of the sound, and yes my phone is propped up in the heat sinks of the cpu

If it only happens while the clutch is being released and immediately goes away once the clutch pedal is fully released... then yes, that is the typical Spec Stage 3 clutch chatter. It is quite annoying and makes it difficult to drive the car in stop/go traffic - I hated the one in my car.

Stage 3+ is the only clutch I recommend as it has much smoother engagement and much better drivability.

Thanks for the reply, will it get better after I put some miles on it or will it always be there?

Some people say theirs got better over time, mine was still annoying after 7K miles.

I loved the Spec Stage 3+ from the very first release of the clutch.

Mine got better, but I think because I learned how to release the pedal in a way that prevented it from chattering. There are many a time that I smell the burning clutch from the slow release to prevent the chatter. I will upgrade to the 3+ soon
