Hi folks. I want to check the circuit on the Yellow wire going into my NSS as well as tbe Purple wire coming out of the NSS on my 84 automatic Fiero...I am assumming I can do this from below the shifter but do not know how shifter is to be removed...Does the shifter handle unscrew after U-clip is removed..?? And are there any videos how to test circuit at this location..Thanks Guys..

I have a '86 automatic. My neutral safety switch is on the transmission at the gear selector

84 is on the transmission also.

Yes..I have to access from underneath the car...correct? I have accessed the mechanical workings at the shifter to see if i can get to yellow wire but not having good luck.

The neutral safety switch is accessed from above the transmission, in the back. It's behind the driver, near where the strut tower and trunk meet.
