85 V-6 SE, are there any other options for replacing the stock failure prone distributor? Aftermarket perhaps?

I just picked this a couple of months ago. It works great, much better design, and it is complete; just drop in!

I have one of those new distributors as well. I was wondering what was available in aftermarket form but maybe I should look into the 7730 ECU and see what that's all about. It sounds like the entire system gets replaced but I'll do a search. Is it worth the trouble?
