My EGR tube is bad. What is the truth about blocking it off ? Iv heard its not good for the motor, an at the same time I heard it's ok an does no harm..

Try the SEARCH function and click the 'entire form + archives' dropdown to get all you could ever want to ask about the EGR system.

I think Rodney makes a stainless steel flexible replacement. Much better than the stock one and wont crack from heat and flexing.

You can block it off and get a chip reprogrammed to not use it from someone in the mall.
It does NO harm disabling it.

If you're going to block it off (which won't really get you any performance gain and will use a touch more gas, as stated) be sure to get a reprogrammed chip.
DON'T just fake out the system. If you fake out the system, you will run too much spark advance and too lean fuel mixture.
THAT is what hurts the motor (and also what helps the fuel mileage when it's working properly.)
