So after looking around at other 84 fieros, I noticed something rather odd with mine, as it seems that my engine oil dipstick is in the wrong spot! I went to go change my oil and my chiltons manual showed the dipstick on the right side of the engine, but mine is on the left. I also want to know how much oil to put in, as I heard the 84 years had a misprint. I'll get some pictures too

Actually it looks like I can't upload pictures. They're saved on my computer but I don't know how to attach them in a post

Go to the bottom of the page and you'll see a blue and red icon. This is to download the Pennock's Image Poster (PIP). Run that, upload the picture, and it will put the URL for the image into your copy buffer, you can just put your cursor in the message window and hit CTRL-V

Ahhhh... then you need to put your pictures on a hosting site like Photo Bucket, then put the URL of the posted image in between [img] and [/img] tags.

And I believe the capacity of the 2.5L is 4 litres of oil, or 3.8 quarts.

Yooper:

There are a lot of swapped engines in 84s. There were recalls and there were dealer replace engines. You may have an engine that was made for some other car....and there are many choices.

Ah! I've answered my own question after a good hour of digging through the archives. My engine had the factory recall, which installed heat shields and moved the dipsticks between the thermostat housing and the valve cover.
