Can someone tell me where the correct factory ground location is for the negative battery cable on the '88 2.8L V6?

Is it on the passenger side of the front cylinder head, or on the mounting stud bolt for the a/c compressor bracket, possibly?

Do all year 2.8L have the same location?

Thanks for the help.

It is normally attached to one of the 15 mm head bolts holding the ac compressor bracket or the equivalent on the passenger side of the engine.
The smaller wire usually attaches to the body either at the deck lid hinge or directly to the sheet metal beside the battery.

You can't have too many ground straps. Most Fieros have a ground strap from the front of the block to the passenger side hinge.

I have that one and I added one from the bellhousing to the cradle.

I also put dielectric grease on the terminals to help with corrosion

Incorrect. OP is correct, all 2.8's have the gruond cable connected at the bank 2 end headbolt with the stud. The smaller guage wire wire is bolted to the battery tray right behind the battery, there are no ' either ' locations from the factory.

the dogbone is a bad location ..the main ground should be direct to the engine block,, THE GROUND WIRE MUST CONTACT THE BLOCK..
there should be at least one additional ground from the LOWER block to the FRAME & sub frame(CRADLE) with an additional SMALLER wire to the fender
when you first buy a Fiero you should clean the small ground wire connection,THAT COMES FROM THE BATTERY. a new bright shiney new screw & washer should secure the small ground wire to the fender, TIGHT FIT.IF THE SCREW IS LOOSE INSTALL BIGGER SCREW
on any old car you purchase the main thick ground wire should be cleaned, sanded or wire brushed & the block connection
cleaned bright, this will assure better starting & fewer electrical problems ..
IF THE STARTER SPINS QUICKLY LEAVE IT ALONE, ,JUST MAKE SURE THE NUT IS TIGHT
