I remember someone addressing this but I can't find the thread, I thought I saved it to my list but it seems to not be there..
What was the stockers rated at 63 amps?
Thanks, As I have a feeling once the radio is in the alt won't keep up, as it is now when the heater is on,lights/wipers and the cooling fan starts the volts go straight to 10.5
yes the battery is tired it's getting replaced in the next few weeks
Rather have reserve power aval out of the alt and not need it, than push the stocker to it's top of it's rated output.

my 71 truck I used a 1986 t/a with 305ho alt as it's 105amp, no idea what to try on this car.

94 amps with a/c and 78 amps without a/c (from Rock Auto)

BTW, replace your battery with a good quality, high capacity version.

Note: check and remove the engine and chassis grounds. Remove bolts clean all the metal surfaces until they shine reassemble and coat with dielectric grease.
