Just curious if this is stock or not, I'm picking up an 86 V6 SE (for parts) and I noticed that it said "Holley" on the air intake tube but I didn't see that it had the Holley intake scoop on the side of the car. Is that normal or did someone just add the tube? Also, the red aluminum intake doesn't have the cast-in Fiero on it. I assume that wasn't on all Fiero V6's then or does that mean this engine has been replaced at one point or another? Sorry, my knowledge about stock Fieros is pretty slim as I currently only have one and I'm doing the popular 3800 swap on it. Thanks!

When it came out the factory door it had "Fiero" on it. Larry

Aha, so chances are that the engine is NOT original then... I didn't try to find any serial numbers on it but I guess for $250 for the whole car, what's the big deal, right?

At least it will be fun taking it apart and figuring out what you really have. Larry

In '86 the plenum only had a sticker saying Fiero on it. It was either in '87 but more likely only in '88 that the word Fiero was cast into the top of the plenum.

Blooze is partially correct. The 85 and 86 V6 plenum had a sticker on a flat smooth surface that read "Fiero" printed in black. With age, some of those have come off the intake so it will have nothing there. In 87 and 88 Fiero was engraved into the plenum.

Holley is the company that made all throttle bodies for the Fiero V6 engines, so that is a stock part. The stock side air intake was recessed. The Holley or Fiero side scoop was an aftermarket piece.
