Ok So I have an 84 iron duke automatic.

I was just wondering if 3000 rpm was normal at 65 mph?? My dad drove my car today and said that seems a little high, but he wasn't sure. I thought it was a good question to ask on here.

Sounds like you have an SE with a 4 speed 4:10 trans.

Yeah I have a SE, not sure about the trans. But I was just wondering if that sounded normal.

The 3 speed automatic was set up to run at 55 mph.....(it was the speed limit back then).

I also have an 84 duke/auto and run about 72 mph at 3000 rpm. The difference could just be that the tach is a little off (either yours or mine). Is your TCC locking up for you?
