Can somebody tell me about this valve? The part number is 24508523.



I pulled it off because it crushed my valve cover.

I'm just curious.

Yeah, it looks like it might have only been on California cars.

I guess I'll just block it off and worry about the code for it later.

you going to have to have the VATS turned off so they can just eliminate code for that as well...

A.I.R. - second air induction reaction is a after combustion emission systems first used in Calif in1966.

SAir reduced emissions approx 90 percent

Air is supplied by Saginaw design belt or elect driven pump. In 1980 a pulse SAIR system using tubing and check valves added to the exhaust manifold used the negative pressure pulse to draw air into the manifold.

A.I.R system dosen't effect engine performance . You can remove it if you can pass your local emission police.

Yeah, I haven't noticed it on any of the other 3800's I've seen.
