3800SC with 4 speed auto from 1999 Grand Prix GTP. Every once in a while the engine has a "hunting idle" 900 to 1600 rpm, gas mileage drops and the CHECK ENGINE light comes ON. Drive it for a while , idle returns to normal and the engine light goes out.

Yesterday the problem returned. Today I had the codes checked: P650, P135 and P102. The guy cleared the codes, the engine light stayed out and all is well. Any ideas - is there one single thing / sensor that might be going bad to cause all 3 of these codes ?

Maybe MAF.... 3800 should never have a "hunting idle"

OBD2 codes are 4 digit. Assuming the leading zero...

P0102 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Low Input
Perhaps an issue with your MAF wiring?

P0135 02 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
I don't believe the 99 Grand Prix used PCM controlled O2 heaters.

P0650 Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) Control Circuit Malfunction
But your MIL light appears to be working correct?

All i have is a CHECK ENGINE light and it appears to be working correctly. Assuming the MIL = CHECK ENGINE, how would i check the "circuit" ?
