I have two '84s, my swap project and a parts car. The parts car has a sunroof and my swap car does not. How big of a project would it be to install the sunroof from one car to another? Is it even feasible, like could I just swap roof panels or is it much more than that? I believe it is a factory sunroof... Any insight is appreciated!

You should be able to do the swap. It's my understanding that all of the cars have the hole in the sub-frame, it's just the panels (and headliners) that are different.....

As for how difficult of a job, I can't say for sure as I've never done it. Everything I hear, do it on a warm sunny day, because the "goop" that hold the panels on can be a pain.

There should be some write-up around with how to actually do the swap.

You definately can swap roof panels with no problem. The big issue is the adhesive mentioned above. It holds very tight and if you try to remove the roof panel too aggressively, you will snap both sides of the windshield pillars right at the roofline. Take your time and you will be ok.

This was the easiest and quickest project that I've done on my Fiero so far. It helped that my headliner was already out and that I bought a sunroof panel that was already removed. I did the whole swap after work one evening in couple of hours.

This will help:

Yes, DEFINITELY check out that link...

Also, use piano wire to cut through the old adhesive in the A-pillars... I would say the MOST difficult part of this job is getting it off without breaking the A-pillars... but that's not saying the job is difficult though.

Definitely worth it... I've had Fieros with and without... having the sunroof really just adds a little bit more sense of freedom in the Fiero!

Awesome, thanks everybody! I will check out the link and add this to my project list. My swap car headliner is shot also so this will give me an excuse to take care of that issue too. Once again, thanks!
