I'm glad that this thread was posted in P&R, as that gives me free reign to express what a total POS that Donald Trump is. What kind of person posts a statement like that regarding the murder of a fellow human being??!!! As much as I detest Trump, even I'm shocked at how low he has stooped. Damn.

Just weighing in on this as this holiday tragedy season is upon us (Brown University shooting, Sydney massacre, and now this). To me, it sounds like the only person that is being driven crazy and losing his sh*t over this terrible occurrence is Donald J. Trump.

I did not know much about Rob Reiner's political activism. I only knew about his popular movies. The more I learn about his activism, the less I like him.

I'll explain it. But it appears that you didn't bother to click on the link the Joe posted, or even skim the excerpt from that link that I posted, above. Trump - and anyone who supports anything having to do with him - has put up with a never-ending litany of personal insults from the leftoids, ever since they realized that he could actually beat her highness, Hillary, in 2016. And that's not to mention the bogus charges brought against him that have all been nullified, dropped or dismissed. It's been relentless, and is still increasing in intensity. So I don't condone what Trump said, but he's not wrong.
And as I mentioned to someone elsewhere, earlier, the vitriol from the left is the kind of stuff that caused the crazies to murder Charlie Kirk, and to attempt to assassinate Trump, twice, and to cause Steve Scalise to get shot in the middle of a baseball practice - among other "events". And the list of physical - not just verbal - attacks goes on and on.

I have to kind of agree with this. It's not something I would have done (made comments, I probably would have just been quiet if I was Trump), but I can't blame him for it. Reiner was absolutely horrible. He quite literally behaved all these years in the very way that Democrats have been told that Charlie Kirk did, when in fact Charlie Kirk did not at all behave that way (since he's being used as a comparison here). Reiner was vicious to Trump, and basically hated all Republicans. I muted him on X a while back because it was constant hatred. Am I glad he's dead, absolutely not, and he didn't deserve it either. But I don't blame Trump for making comments... it was definitely a "look at me" comment, but whatever... that's Trump. For better or worse, I'd still vote for him over anyone on the left, and absolutely voted for him because I knew he'd go scorched Earth if brought in again. I have not been disappointed.

This, I do not understand. This idea that the President must be stoic and constantly even-handed and unemotional in everything they do does not make sense. We've had dozens of presidents over the life of this country. Teddy Roosevelt swore like a sailor in public, Bill Clinton would take food off people's trays at McDonalds and violated a cigar with an intern, Obama invited paralegals to a beer summit and gave a stack of crappy music CDs to the Prime Minister of England.
