I have found that most peoples' thoughts and opinions are shaped by the news that they consume on a daily basis. Big surprise, eh?

That being the case, I have attempted to provide myself with a wide cross-section of news sites. Some fairly mainstream, and some... not so much.
I have purposely excluded Fox, CNN, and MSNBC from the list. (I still have links to those in another folder, but they are frequently linked to anyway, from the sites I listed.)
I use the Drudge Report as the benchmark for "Anti-Trump" news articles, and have added others as I found them of interest.
These sites were mostly just added in chronological order. There is otherwise no real importance based upon where they fall in the list.

I also added a couple of links at the very bottom, to info regarding HR4117, since that one is of particular interest to me, and most other automotive enthusiasts.
There are also links to several radio stations that I like to stream, as well as a link to live "cop radio" traffic for my local area. Just because.

I would be interested in hearing your thoughts. And what other sites would you recommend?
Thanks.

Edit - Since only the names of the sites are shown, if anyone wants the actual site link, please ask.

I don't really watch or read the news... but I do occasionally go on X, and I get breaking news on there more quickly than I see it anywhere else.

I do however get news aggregation feeds. I get a "daily top 10," and one is from a left-leaning source, and one is from a right-leaning source.

Left Leaning - Wake Up To Politics: https://www.wakeuptopolitics.com/

It's run by a kid, well... was a kid, called Gabe Fleischer. He is for sure very left-leaning, and the news articles are very much geared towards a left-leaning audience. But he's very measured in the way he approaches everything. He does not hide information since he's not really trying to paint a narrative. It's clear he writes his articles for a liberal audience, as this is implicitly stated since all his articles are intended to be speaking to a left-leaning audience. But again... he's very measured in his approach and doesn't allow emotion to intentionally "leave out" things. He started over a decade ago writing from his college dorm, and he's a full-on journalist now. I still call him a kid though because I was subscribed to him when he was. I like this because it's matter of fact... it's really hard to find a left-leaning news source that isn't bat-**** crazy, or completely filled with emotion and needless rhetoric... like adjectives that are totally irrelevant to the story.

Right Leaning - DayBreak Insider: https://daybreakinsider.com/

Basically, this is like a right-leaning version of Wake Up With Politics. I get an e-mail every day by 6:00 AM with the previous day's top-10 stories. It's no nonsense, there's no commentary, just a subject heading, and 2-3 excerpts from top news organizations. The articles they link to are almost always from left-leaning sites, which is intentional because they figure if they're giving you links from a left-leaning site, it will be harder for the left to refute it. But the subject is all absolutely geared towards a right-leaning audience... since the top-10 stories are mostly all about successes Trump has had, and failures of Democrats. But it does also talk about challenges from time to time.

Both of these are pretty great.

If you want some real fun... lurk on Democratic Underground... most of those people very literally suffer from mental illness... which I'm not making fun of, because it is really actually sad. Half the posts at times are people talking about how they're at their edge, and need help being talked off the bridge (so to speak). It makes you realize how the Democrat Party has managed to manipulate a group through outright fear... which has driven so many of my friends into having to seek counseling from psychiatrists to help them deal with politics. It's really sad... and so unhealthy.

Thanks for those links. I don't think I've actually seen either one of them. I'll give them a look.

Democratic Underground? I'll pass. Reminds me too much of some people I know. Seriously.
It's like the current Drudge Report, on acid.

Democratic Underground is horrible. They completely disallow any Republicans, Independents, and even moderate Democrats. If you post something there that's challenging in the least to the most radical response... they can down-vote your comment and it'll get deleted. I'm not speaking from personal experience because after a SINGLE post I made, which was actually in agreement to something, they deleted my account because they said I didn't have enough likes and believed I was a fake account. This was about 9 years ago.

But yeah, I see it constantly. Especially in the posts that talk about Israel, or guns... there are a couple of Jewish people there, and they occasionally make comments, and then their comments get deleted, even though one of them is trans (forget the name) and they're both VERY left-leaning. Like... it's really just the craziest stuff.

When Fidel Castro died years ago... they held a virtual candelight vigil for him (I'm serious). When Trump was shot... I couldn't find a single comment that said we shouldn't be celebrating this. I usually go on there after something really big happens in the news, just because I want to get the pulse of what the left is feeling, and it never surprises me... it's always about as crazy as you can possibly imagine it.

Most of the posts on there think Trump stole the election, that he and Putin have a love affair, all that stuff. Like, I just did a quick search, and here's one from yesterday night... 2016 and 2024 were stolen: https://www.democraticunderground.com/100220528517
