Vice President JD Vance joined and his first post was about SCOTUS affirming the Tennessee law preventing gender affirming care for minor who had been influenced into believing they are in the wrong body, of the other sex.
My first thought is that this was just a test... but the more I think about it, I believe JD Vance believes he can actually "convert" some people to his way of thinking.
I hope we can all agree on at least one fact... people on the left, many fled to BlueSky where they believed it would be more liberal.
The REASON why they did this is because they disliked the fact that X wasn't blocking / banning speech that they didn't like. They used terms like it being Toxic (even though BlueSky is probably the most toxic place you can imagine right now), but more importantly... they believed they were shielding themselves from "disinformation."
The reality though, they were shielding themselves from speech they didn't like... truths that upset their views. For the past 5-6 years, we've been fed numerous lines, and people were called "conspiracy theorists" for questioning it. Just a few of the conspiracies turned fact:
1 - Obama used NSA's PRISM surveillance program under FBI's 702 FISA (so the FBI did it, not the NSA) to monitor Trump and his political allies in the months leading up to the election. We know this to be fact now... but the Democrats and media said it was conspiracy.
2 - The Steele Dossier was fake, and none of it was true. We now know this as fact due to reporting, FOIAs, and even the special council findings.
3 - COVID-19 likely came from a lab. Where we are now is, the FOIA's to the NIH now admit that we paid for Gain of Function testing for both Sars COV-2, and bat to human transmission testing at Wuhan Labs. We also know that patient zero was the "wet market" in Wuhan. For some reason, we can't make that connection even though the two points are less than a mile from eachother, but ok.
4 - Hunter Biden's laptop is real, and everything in it is real, and it wasn't Russian disinformation. We now know that to be true.
All of these things were true, as well as dozens of other things like the efficacy of the vaccines, masks, blah blah... all kinds of things have now been proven, to which the media and Democrats decreed as conspiracy. So... these people who don't want to admit that they've been wrong on almost everything... have gone to BlueSky to co-mingle.
I'm fine with people having spaces / places where people are comfortable being themselves... but here's what I've noticed... Democrats are generally unwilling to have discussions with people that don't share their values. I can't understand this.

Pretty much.
And on Facebook, if you try to give them facts, they'll either start name calling, or just block you, altogether.

I've really tried to understand this. Most of my friends are left leaning, and they bring things up and send me e-mails. When I start responding... usually as calm as I am, I cannot get them to answer WHY they feel the way they do, or why they hold a particular view... and I think that's the core to all of this. Many left-leaning people don't really know why they support something, other than because everyone else in their circle does. Whatever... I won't lose sleep over it... but if I held a viewpoint on something and was pretty ardent about it, but didn't know why I felt this way, I would probably go nuts. I know exactly why I believe support whatever I have a stance on.

Those Leftists are the result of unexamined lives.
You can't reason with someone who has no idea how he got to where he is in his thinking.

I do not subscribe to that theory. I don't think I can convert anyone here to change their beliefs. However, I might be able to prevent someone from forming the wrong beliefs. Not all are cemented in their ways.
I have not done Twitter, X, or Truth Social. I will have a steep learning curve to navigate them, more importantly, Bluesky.
