I was going to post this tomorrow. More suited for Veterans Day yet I think appropriate.

The military code of conduct, specifically the Code of Conduct for Members of the Armed Forces of the United States, is an ethical guide that outlines the expected behavior of service members in combat and captivity. It consists of six articles that emphasize dedication to the country, resistance to capture, and the obligation to escape if captured, while also adhering to moral principles.

Memorial Day is always a hard one to "celebrate" for me. I feel like we need to do the BBQs and spoil our families because of those who served and never got a chance to do so, but it also reminds me of the faces of those same individuals and the gross unfairness that required their sacrifice. War is a hell of a thing, but so is being able to live a fulfilled life. In the end, it isn't about me. Sorry it took until Thursday night for me to reply to this. I hope you all still keep your fallen comrades close in your hearts.

Everyday is Memorial Day for me.

Fort Sam Houston, a military base very near me, has a cemetary (large) where I have relatives buried in. (Fort Sam Houston also has a premier burn unit.)

It's okay to party, bbq, play games, enjoy family, or what ever, if you visit a veterans grave site. There are many. Lay a wreath. Plant an American flag. Salute.

I would be remiss If I did not mention that government got us in conflicts that cost many lives they would not let us win.
