I'm going to put this out there, before our friends on the left side of the isle complicate the argument.


Republicans (generally), want to get rid of books that have explicit sexual content, or anything that pushes Communist ideologies or Critical Race Theory ... in grade school. College is a great place for you to go find yourself... not elementary school, not middle school, etc. That is a place where PARENTS determine, through elections to the school board, what kind of material they will learn, and generally... that's MATH, SCIENCE, HISTORY, ENGLISH, ENGINEERING, etc. The problem is that for a long time, parents stopped really paying attention to what's going on in the school boards. Most school board members are propped up by the local teacher's unions... so, it becomes a means of extorting money from the taxpayers. Parents and voters are waking up, and this is why in most states, there has been a complete turn-over of school boards, including places like San Francisco.


Democrats, generally want to push whatever they're being told is "forward leaning," which means bringing attention to a protected class. But it really goes beyond that... Democrat voters are well-intentioned, but misinformed (in my opinion), because many of the books that have been replaced include books like To Kill a Mocking Bird, Tom Sawyer, the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, etc. Books like these should never have been banned. They are classics, but are being banned because it alters the narrative that the left is trying to push... that people are inherently biased and racist. For example, anyone who's read any of those books knows that they deal directly with racism... and the protagonist in every one of those books is a child who (without bias), tries to help a black man or black child. So these books were banned.

Other books that Democrats have tried to inject INTO the public school system are books like, "The Joy of Sex," which was a book written in the 70s that exists for literally no other reason than to provide a multitude of sexual positions. For almost any child that grew up in the 1980s and early 1990s... your parents probably had one hidden under the bed or something. This does NOT mean that it needs to be put in elementary schools, or middle schools, or even high schools. Literally, there is no point in pushing this kind of stuff on kids.

A former Soviet leader said something along the line of 'Give me your kids for two generations and we will rule your country'.
