'infotain' some forum members as in infotainment
| quote | On February 20, 1939, the eve of World War II, American Nazis and fascist sympathizers staged a huge rally at Madison Square Garden in support of Adolf Hitler. The building was covered in symbols of the Third Reich and the stage was adorned with a giant picture of George Washington, “the original American Nazi” according to organizers. |

"Fascism in the USA: Pictures of American Nazi Organization Rally at Madison Square Garden, New York City in February, 1939"
July 14, 2016; Vintage Everyday.
https://www.vintag.es/2016/...res-of-american.htmlI might not be able to go back and find it on this forum, but I remember it well. A forum member (not me) posted a photograph like this, from that famous (or infamous) event, and described the people who organized and attended this rally as among the "Left"... typical of the "Left" throughout history... emblematic of the "Left"... a recurring pattern among the "Left" that persists from time immemorial to this very day.
Those aren't that forum member's words, verbatim, but that is what I believe he was trying to say. He clearly connected this pro-Nazi rally with the "Left".
Is that an accurate description of the people who organized and attended this rally... the "Left"?
Is there a "through line" from the people of this rally that connects to today's Democratic Party? The "Biden brats" of that forum member's rather colorful imagination? I believe that is what he meant with that forum post. Or if not today's Democratic Party writ large, then (more specifically) it's more progressive or left-leaning leaders and followers? Black Lives Matter activists and sympathizers? Greta Thunberg? A "rando" that was photographed setting his arm on fire because he wanted to call attention to Climate Change? These references are all part of that forum member's customary habit on this forum.
I don't know how anyone who is actually informed about the history of that time, when more than 20,000 Nazi sympathizers rallied in 1939 at the famous New York City venue, could make those kinds of connections.
That rally was contemporaneous with another history that is not so well known. It's about U.S. Senators, Congressmen and other significant Americans of that time who were involved in a conspiracy to undermine the United States and establish a reactionary authoritarian government and society in its place: an American version of Hitler's Germany. Among the Senators, Congressmen and other Americans who were part of this conspiracy, Republicans and Democrats alike, although (according to ULTRA) there were more Republicans than Democrats.
I seldom "do" podcasts, but I have been "infotained" by more than half of the ULTRA content. I'm sure I will have the remainder of it. It's 8 episodes and comes to about 8 hours total, including the setup time that anyone would need to start or continue with it. I have been listening to it on my iPhone, using the TuneIn(.com) website, which I call up from my Google internet browser. The podcast is also available from Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, iHeart and Amazon Music.
Without further ado, I offer the online portal to ULTRA:
