We could have a Republican President next year if all the pieces fall in place.
#1. Biden resigns for health reasons. #2. Harris is removed by either impeachment or the 25th amendment before her VP choice is confirmed. The house would have to act fast. Obviously she cannot be allowed to take the wheel. #3. The speaker ascends to the presidency.
If the Republicans take the majority in the House there is no reason that they could not designate "one" DJT himself as the Speaker of the House.
Then he could be sworn in as President in 4Q-2022 or 1Q-2023, as soon as Biden and Harris are both out of the way, with no Harris-designated VP.
A second term for DJT, well before Inauguration Day 2025, and without him even having to run again as a candidate for President.
Accelerationists, Rejoice!
Although I think he would do a fine job, "installing" Trump in such a manner would be unwise for several reasons, not the least of which would be that he would only have two years left. He needs more. Also, it would give the left an excuse to claim that he was illegitimate.
No, we need to carefully consider who becomes speaker. We don't need another Boener or Ryan. We need someone in the mold of Newt Gingrich.
Also, though health would be the excuse for Biden's resignation, it would be a great way to throw cold water on the smoldering inferno that is Hunter. It would be as close to "saving face" as Joe will ever be.
If I were the DNC, I would figure out a way to replace Harris ASAP, following the midterms, while Joe is still in office. They will prop him up as long as they can, like they did with RBG, but his chances of making it to Jan '25 are slim.
I can't think of anyone in their stable who is capable, so they will probably choose someone like Pitiful Pete or a complete unknown.
If they use the same criteria that they have recently, we could end up with this guy:

The House is sworn in at the beginning of January, no installation of DJT could take place 4th Q 2022.
If DJT were to be installed as Speaker, and then ascends to the Oval Office after Biden is removed and Harris removed, DJT would be eligible to run in 2024, as he would not have served two complete terms before the 2024 election.

Yes, but they would slay him and he would not be reelected, thus he would only get two years. If he had four, he could get a better shot at draining the swamp, which as I see it would be his number one job. With two years of (honest) republican leadership to stop the bleeding and expose the cockroaches to the daylight, the stage could be set for a very strong four year run.
If, Biden goes (regardless of how that were to occur) VP Harris would assume the position and duties of the Oval Office. That also leaves the Senate without a tiebreaker for a while. Things could get interesting. After the mid-term election, I feel fairly certain Pelosi will not be Speaker of the House any longer. That in itself is a happy thought.
It depends which party has a majority. And if we have a normal election process. I think there are a lot of nervous members of the house that are desperate. No telling what the next round of chaos will be when the next 'emergency' is defined.
So I wanted to learn more about that photo that's been posted by Wichita.
The personage on the right is Sam Brinton, currently assigned to the Office of Nuclear Energy at the Department of Energy, and responsible, at the Deputy Assistant Secretary level, for Spent (nuclear) Fuel and Waste Disposition.
Whoever is picked, they will have no backbone and will constantly bend to the whims of the Democrats. We've seen it again and again from them.
Also, despite everyone seeing a Republican majority coming, nobody in the Republican party will have any bills made up to present or push through when they "take over". It'll take at least 4-6 months to get anything started, and all of it will be bills that will never get past the Presidents desk.
When they finally get something together that will pass, it's basically a Democrat bill that is "bipartisan" and gives up more of our freedoms.

IIRC, you would first need to be elected to the House of Representatives before you could be chosen as Speaker of the House. Since DJT is not currently a candidate of one of the House seats, it is likely virtually impossible for him to be the S o H and this in the line of succession for the President.

Well... I don't think that's true. It's never been done before, for the majority party in the House to select someone as Speaker other than a serving House member. But as I understand it, there is no requirement that the Speaker of the House has to be a currently seated member of the House.
That's what I saw on TV, quite some months ago.

Unless an Amendment deals with that detail, the Constitution does not require the Speaker to be elected to the House.
Best case, the Republicans take the House and Senate, impeach ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING the democrats want,...until a person in the "center" can be agreed on.
What makes me more mad than anything else... there are people who work their entire lives to achieve the rank of Admiral / O10... let alone Captain (NAVY / O6). And this ****ing dude is automatically anointed a 4-star Admiral for literally no other reason at all than he's a cross-dresser. He hasn't even gone through with the full transgender surgery. Man... the state of this country... the entire world is laughing at us.

The one on the right is a sexual deviant. He dresses up in dog costumes for sexual arousal, and openly admits to the role playing.

BTW, The uniforms displayed are not USN so I am uncertain as to what the fuss is about. Look at the cap insignia and the one over the breast pocket. The gold braid on the bill of the cover also does not look quite right to me and the cover for a commissioned officer uses a different center piece decoration. If someone really wants to see what it is supposed to look like, I will dig mine out and post a photo of it.

There are 8 'uniformed services' of which NOAA and Public Health Service are two and both have Navy-like uniforms. Levine does not and has not ever held a rank in any Armed Service, will never lead a Sailor or command a ship and to call that bureaucrat a 4 star anything is an affront to actual service members who earned their rank instead of being handed it as a propaganda exercise.
Two senior Republicans likely to chair House investigative committees next year if the GOP wins control of Congress say they are prepared to compel testimony from Hunter and James Biden about their overseas business deals and to use the power of the purse to force the FBI to address long-simmering questions about its integrity.
Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.) told the "Just the News, Not Noise" television show on Thursday night that if he wins the chairmanship of the powerful House Oversight and Government Reform Committee next January, he will methodically look to compel testimony from President Joe Biden's son and brother.
"We're gonna ask them to testify, and when they say no, then we'll subpoena them," Comer said in a wide-ranging interview. "So that'll be probably the first subpoena issued by a Republican majority."
The problem with Republicans is that they don't come up with a stash of absentee ballots that mysteriously arrives at the end of the vote count. That's kinda a Dem thang.

They've got work to do. They need to quit forking around.
There are reports that the first motion today might be to adjourn.
I would be happy with Jordan, but that ain't gonna happen. A few of the enlightened need to take McCarthy into a small, quiet room and have a "Come to Jesus" meeting.
"They're not really blackmailing McCarthy. They're blackmailing the conference. On the votes yesterday, they were losing 202 to 20. And in a healthy, free society, you'd figure a 202 to 20 votes tells you something. But this 20 has gotten together and decided that they can not only blackmail the Republican conference. In effect, they're blackmailing the American people. Remember, we didn't get the vote yesterday to repeal the 87,000 IRS agents. We didn't get the announcement by McCarthy that there would be hearings on the border, so Democrats would be forced to go and look at the disaster. We did not get the kind of steps forward in organizing the China Select Committee to look at what the Chinese are doing. So just remember, these blackmailers aren't just blackmailing the Republican Party. They're blackmailing the whole country. And their game – I don't know what their end game is. I don't know why they think that 20 people can dictate to 202. It's a real problem. … It's the equivalent of a temper tantrum."
