My wife has owned/driven several Jeeps during her younger life. We bought a '98 Wrangler Sport, (aka a "TJ") shortly before we got married.
She recently bought a '21 Wrangler "JL" Unlimited (unlimited = 4-door) Sahara. We decided that we didn't want to beat hers up, off road, so I also bought a '13 Wrangler "JK" Sport, that's a little more suited to that. Both of them are manual trans.
We've only been on one really good off road excursion, but are looking forward to more.
Hers.
Mine.
I know a couple of members - or former members - of PFF, are also Jeep people.

I had a 1980 CJ-7 4-speed manual for a couple years. It came to me "well used" and needed a lot of work, only some of which I was able to do (or get done). I never did try using it on 4WD because I was warned the front hubs were bad. It also needed a new carb (or a good carb overhaul) which in my naivete scared me to no end. It had about 500 miles of vacuum lines thanks to its 1980-era emissions system. On the plus side, the 4-speed transmission was strong and shifted great.
It never turned me into a "Jeep guy" but apparently it wore off on my brother, who bought a TJ Wrangler brand-new (which he still has) and he's also owned two Grand Cherokees.
Wow! Missed all the replies. And no... it doesn't have to be a Wrangler.
With that said, the gray one posted above was adopted by me, since SWMBO wanted a Rubicon. I have had it regeared to 4.11s with e-lockers on both axles, and replaced the "fru-fru" wheels and tires. This is what it looks like now.
I've owned and driven three different Jeeps. All were manual transmissions. The last one I had I pulled the Six Cylinder Engine and Manual out of a wrecked Cherokee (I think that is what it was) and dropped that into the CJ7 I had, then cut the back off and shorten the cabin then fiberglass the back portion on to what was left of the front of the cabin. Basically, transformed it into a small 4WD short-wheel base pickup.
Enjoy that one for quite a while until someone wanted it more than I did. $$$$
While I often miss that particular CJ7, I doubt I'll ever get another. I'm not into going out in the woods for fun. Not going to knock those who do, just not something I enjoy any longer. One needs to know or remember I spent a huge part of my life out in the woods or the desert and other scenic places I really don't miss.
My 87 fiero is my first car. But a couple months ago I got a 91 wrangler. To go along with my 85 GT I just got and my 91 sanoma LS swap project. And when I get bored with 4 wheels I get out my 78 kawasaki kz200. I guess I have a lot of cars for being 17.
Good show! You can never have too many cars. (My wife would beg to differ, but she's not on here, so...)
I still have my same Wranglers, but I cleaned the running boards off of both sides of the 2-door, on a trail, back in the spring. So now it has rock rails, 35s, and steel wheels. Let's see what happens.
