I have a radio reception problem on an 89 corvette. Engine not runningradio is crystal clear. Engine running radio reception is gone. Anybody have any ideas? Thanx

Is it radio only or do you have the same issue playing from other sources?

Ground wires would be my first go to.
I also had an issue with a bad alternator.

If its just the radio then check the antenna cable for any damage, if its grounding to any part of the chassis it could be your issue.

I don't know enough about Corvettes throughout the different generations, but at least earlier ones had special shields over the distributor and wires for the specific reason of reducing radio interference. You may want to see if that was still in use for your Corvette and if so you have all the proper shields in place.

My bet is on the alternator. Had an 84 and the alt was always making my system freak out
