*This* double-connector is hard to find; you'll have better luck by buying separate connections....

It's been quite awhile since I've looked closely at mine... but I suspect with a minimal amount of fuss, that you'd be able to slide the hoses directly onto the MAP sensor without the need for that rubber fitting.

To me, don't slide the hoses onto your MAP sensor!

Okay, after looking at the diagram above, I was reminded that those hoses don't actually connect to the MAP sensor. However, that doesn't negate my earlier suggestion of simply eliminating the rubber connector if the hoses can be attached to the corresponding tubes.

My point was that no connections of any sort may be necessary.

Your theory is great, BUT the key word is "IF"

Eliminating the double-connector, you'll find that both rubber hoses on the trunk wall tubes will be too short to attach to the engine.

In the real world, these rubber hoses on the trunk wall tubes will be needed replaced with longer sections.

So, change the double-connector with separate connections OR replace both rubber hoses on the trunk wall tubes with longer sections.

If (there's that word again) the hoses are indeed too short, I dare say that replacing the two short lengths of hose is probably easier/cheaper than finding suitable connectors.

Well, at least you agree that your first "idea" wasn't good....
The others: we can disagree which is typical or expected.
