Hey guys,

If any of you have tried to remove ash tray doors from the center console, you'll realize how brittle they've become in the past ~40 years. Well, I managed to break them all on my daughter's center console when I was cleaning it for her. She wasn't pleased.

There were only a few online for sale, and it was either spend like $200 for a single passenger side one, or get two drivers side ones for $25 each. I went with the driver's side ones. I discovered, they're almost exactly the same. The only difference is where the little peg goes that holds the spring. The center console panel has a hole for the spring clip on both sides of the ash tray bracket, so all I had to do was bend the little hook 180 degrees, and I could mount the spring on the other side. I was able to use two "R" ash tray doors, and they both look perfect. Just wanted to share in case anyone else had a broken center console and needed new doors.

OMG THATS SO COOL. I just discovered her youtube channel, and I honestly have so much appreciation for her work. I'm in highschool, and it's a massive relief being able to watch videos on Fieros that aren't created over 40 years ago...

In the video she said you'd "lost them" lols.

Sorry, I missed this. I appreciate the comments!

Yeah... she's so busy with school and like a dozen extra-curricular activities... I try not to take too much time from her when she does have freedom so she can hang out with her friends, etc. So, I try to do little things here and there to help her out, like paint some bolts, or chase threads, or even sand down some parts for her so when she re-installs them, she doesn't have to wait for paint to dry or something...

So, I was trying to remove the doors, and I literally broke both of them... haha. But they're back in now, and everything is good.
